It's almost that time of year again! Children's Summer Reading Programs Rubber Ducky Club and Read & Bead (& the Teen Scratch Ticket Challenge) END on Friday, August 11th! Participants will be able to redeem beads and prizes through August 18th.

Join us as we welcome back volunteers from the Astronomical Society of New Haven to explore meteorites from our solar system and watch a simulation of how moon craters are made. This is a great family program!

Make your very own flying saucer to soar through space! It wouldn't be complete without an alien captain!

STEAM Series: Balloon Tower

Wednesday, August 2nd from 4:30 - 5:30 PM

Grades K - 3

*Registration begins 7/26

Pop! Build the tallest tower using only two materials: balloons and tape! Race against the clock, using strategy to decide when to use various advantages i.e. balloon pumps, extra help, pre-blown ballooomns, and more! Participants must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program and adult participation is required.

Books & Bites: Nutmeg Book Club

Dog Days of Summer Scavenger Hunt!

When Sirius (the dog star) would appear in the sky just before the sun, near the end of July, that marked the beginning of the very hottest days of the year. The Romans referred to this period as "dies caniculares" or "days of the dog star," which was eventually translated as just "dog days." Here at the library, it's just an excuse to show off our adorable staff pups!
