Upcoming Events

LEGO Free Play
Mondays, October 2nd, 16th, 23rd, 3:30 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon of free play where you can build with LEGOs to your heart's content. We provide the LEGO pieces and you can provide the imagination. 
Ages 5 to 12. Children under the age of 8 should be accompanied by an adult.

Moveable Monster Claws
Thursday, October 5th, 4 p.m.
Join us for some STEM fun in the spirit of Halloween! Use pneumatic pistons, cylinders, and cardboard to make a monster claw that can pick items up.
Ages 9 to 12.

Team STEAM
Fridays, October 6th, 20th, 27th, 4 p.m.
TEAM STEAM is an engineering club founded by students at Wilton High School. This program is perfect for curious minded children who want to engage in STEAM activities in a group setting.
Ages 6 to 11. 

Create Your Own Magnet Maze
Tuesday, October 10th, 4 p.m.
Design your own magnet maze or partner up with a friend to create a mega-maze!
Ages 6 to 11. 

Repujado Art for Kids
Thursday, October 12th, 4 p.m.
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us! Learn about the traditional Mexican metal embossing program and design your own art piece.
Ages 4 to 7.

Fall Movie Night: Coco
Friday, October 13th, 6:30 p.m.
Celebrate the season at our outdoor movie night! We will be watching "Coco" (2017) with the whole family. The feature presentation will start after sunset, approximately around 7 p.m. The movie will run approximately 109 minutes.
All ages.

COFFI Kid Connections: Hispanic Heritage Month
Sunday, October 15th, 3 p.m.
Celebrate LatinX cultures with us at COFFI Kid Connections. We'll read and craft to celebrate the many rich and diverse points of view that comprise Hispanic and LatinX communities. 
Ages 5 to 8.

Tiny Food Explorers
Tuesday, October 17th, 11 a.m.
Come and explore new flavors and textures with a registered dietitian while playing games all about food. Participants will make a tasty treat in this engaging class. 
Ages 3 to 6.

Light-Up Greeting Cards
Thursday, October 19th, 4 p.m. 
Learn to create a simple paper circuit with batteries, copper tape, and LED lights. Celebrate the Halloween season by adding these lights to a festive card, or create one of your own design. No experience necessary!
Ages 9 to 12. 

Let's Pretend! Theater for Preschoolers
Saturday, October 21st, 9:30 a.m.
Young children will explore singing, acting, and movement to experience the magic and make-believe of the theater as an active player rather than a passive participant.
Ages 4 to 5.

Children's Theater Workshop: The Little Ghost Who Lost Her Boo
Saturday, October 21st, 10:30 a.m.
All you need to participate in this theater workshop is an active imagination!
Ages 6 to 10. 

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
Tuesday, October 24th, 6 p.m. 
Join the librarians for an evening of bone-chilling stories at the Museum of Darien! We will share the stories under the light of the moon so please dress warmly. This evening's stories will increase in creepiness as it gets darker. 
Ages 6 and up with a caregiver. 

Food Explorers: Pizza Quesadillas
Thursday, October 26th, 4 p.m.
Participants will make delicious Pizza Quesadillas in this hands-on class. You will get to choose your own fillings and assemble your quesadilla and play some games about food.
Ages 7 to 12. 
Create Your Own Ghost Friend
Monday, October 30th, 4 p.m.
Listen to the charming story of "Gustavo, The Shy Ghost" by Flavia Z. Drago before crafting your very own ghost friend!
Ages 4 to 7.

Michele Urban Music: Pete the Cat and the Music Room
Friday, October 6th, 10:30 a.m.
Michele shares jazzy new songs and cool stories about Pete’s far out musical adventures. Everyone will see how groovy life can be as they sing along, play with outta sight rhythm instruments.
Ages 1 to 5. 

Outdoor Baby Laptime
Tuesdays, October 3rd and 10th, 9:30 a.m.
Join us for fingerplays, songs, and bounce rhymes in this lapsit storytime in the courtyard!  In the event of rain, this storytime will move to our Community Room.
Pre-walking babies up to 18 months with a parent of caregiver.

Outdoor Toddler Storytime
Tuesdays October 3rd and 10th; Thursdays, October 5th and 12th, 10:30 a.m.
Join in the fun at Toddler Storytime in the courtyard! This storytime will feature fun songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and stories. In the event of rain, this storytime will move to our Community Room.
Ages 18 months to 3 years. 

Storytime at Pear Tree Point Beach
Wednesdays, October 4th and 11th, 10 a.m.
Join us for outdoor storytime, where we'll wiggle and laugh along to action-oriented books, fingerplays, songs, and rhymes that focus on early literacy skills. Please bring a blanket or towel to sit on. 
Co-sponsored with Darien Parks and Recreation.
Walkers up to 36 months.

Libros y Cuentos
Friday, October 13th, 10:30 a.m.
A bilingual storytime with a mix of books, rhymes, and songs in both Spanish and English.
All ages.

Play and Mingle for Babies and New Parents
Saturday, October 21st, 10:30 a.m.
This morning meetup is for new parents and pre-walking babies before our Saturday Storytime. Grab a coffee at the café and join us in the Toddler Room!
Ages birth to 18 months. 

Saturday Storytime
Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. 
This storytime for families will include some of our favorite books, fingerplays, and songs. 
All ages. 

Goldbas Musical Story Hour
Fridays, October 20th and 27th, 10:30 a.m.
Join Kate and Jake Goldbas as they bring children's literature to life through song, imaginative play and movement in their interactive storytime meets sing-a-long! 
Ages 1 to 5. 

Halloween Storytime
Tuesday, October 31st, 10:30 a.m. 
Join the Children's Librarians for a special Halloween-themed storytime!
