LEGO Free Play
Mondays, 4 p.m.

Join us for an afternoon of free play where you can build with LEGOs to your heart's content. We provide the LEGO pieces and you can provide the imagination.

Ages 5 to 12. Children under the age of 8 should be accompanied by an adult. No registration required!

Family Movie Matinee: "The Super Mario Bros Movie"
Tuesday, November 7th, 2 p.m.

Have some popcorn on the Children's Library and bring the family for a matinee movie! Based on the Super Mario video games, the animated film follows Mario on his adventures with his friends.

Rated PG. Runtime: 93 minutes. Ages 3 and up with a caregiver.  No registration required!

Shubh Diwali!
Wednesday, November 8th, 4 p.m.

Shubh Diwali! Learn about this special festival of lights that is celebrated in India. We will read a story before making a craft to celebrate the holiday.
Ages 5 to 8.

Blinky Bow Ties
Thursday, November 9th, 4 p.m.

Kids will make a cool wearable tech project using batteries and LEDs.
Ages 7 to 11.

Light-Up Constellation Art
Tuesday, November 14th, 4 p.m.

Hear about the lost stories behind the constellations of the Ininew (Cree) people and other Indigenous North Americans. Then kids will build their own light-up constellation art!
Ages 9 to 12.

Create Your Own Drawbot
Thursday, November 16th, 4 p.m.

Build your own drawing machine in this artistic construction program. Experiment with different designs in order to create your own unique art tool.
Ages 7 to 12.

Let's Pretend! Theater for Preschoolers

Beloved theatre teacher Ingrid Schaeffer will lead young participants and their parents in this imaginative class: all you need is a willingness to participate!

COFFI Kid Connections: Native American Heritage Month

Darien Library and COFFI invite you to our Native American Heritage Month Celebration. This CKC will feature guest reader Alyssa Morton (@Storytime_With_Alyssa), a tribe member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Join us to read books and make crafts that celebrate Ojibiwe culture. Ages 5 to 8.

3D Paper Dragons
Tuesday, November 21st, 4 p.m.

Make a mini fire-breathing dragon using puzzle pieces and glue!

Family Movie Matinee: "The Good Dinosaur"

Celebrate the month of Dino-vember with us and bring the family to the Library for an afternoon showing of The Good Dinosaur.

Tuesday, November 28th, 4 p.m.

Listen to a read aloud of the Caldecott Honor book Berry Song by Michaela Goade and create your own berry craft.

Food Explorers: Apple Cinnamon Pancakes
Thursday, November 30th, 4 p.m.

Join us for afternoon brunch as participants will make delicious Apple Cinnamon Pancakes in this hands-on class. Each child will cut apples and help prepare the pancake batter as a group.

Michele Urban Music: "Find Your Dinosaur Roar"

Find your own dinosaur roar as you stomp, chomp, dance and sing along to Michele’s silly dino-songs that explore important themes, like feelings, fears, diversity, kindness and inclusion. And, of course, kids have tons of fun sharing knowledge of dinosaur facts!
