October is Family History Month. Researching your ancestors can be fascinating and rewarding, and now, at the Blackstone Library, it doesn't have to cost you any money either!
We offer all our patrons free access to Ancestry.com's Library Edition here in the building. You can access all the same great information as the paid version with one of our computers or your own. Stop by this month and start your family history journey!
Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in libraries, bookstores, and schools. This annual event highlights the value of free and open access to information and brings together the entire book community — librarians, educators, authors, publishers, booksellers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas.
You can use these apps to read banned books on your own, or join our Banned Book Club to read and discuss them as part of a group.
