Community Costume Swap
Monday, September 11,
6:30pm - 8:00pm

Bring in costumes you no longer want or use to the Main Library from August 10 to September 10. Items in good condition will be accepted for all age levels.

This exciting event is open to everyone. You do not have to donate to be able to take items from the swap. Items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Items left behind after the swap may be used for future library programs, donated, or recycled. No bags will be supplied; please bring something to carry your new items home. The library in no way endorses the quality of the costumes provided. Swap at your own risk! No registration required.

Young Explorers

Our popular Young Explorers program is back in Kidspace. This is a fun STEAM and adventure program. We travel to countries and many U.S. states to learn about people, animals and much more. Our first trip this season is a visit to the state of Wyoming. Let’s grab our boarding passes and passports! Stories, crafts and activities are all part of this program for ages 3-5 years old. Afternoon Book Club

Join our Afternoon Book Club for a lively discussion of The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin. This will be a hybrid program at the Main Library. Participants can either join us in person at the library in Meeting Room 2 or login from home using Zoom. Discussions are held on the second Thursday of every month. Books are available at the Lending Desk, one month prior to each meeting. Registration is required.

Oppossums

Join us in Kidspace for the very first visit from our backyard wildlife Opossum friends! The Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue Center will be here with two cute opossums. They will give us an overview of wildlife rehabilitation and the role of rehabbers. They also discuss supporting wildlife during winter, and preparing emergency roadside kits. Learn more about becoming a rehabber or wildlife volunteer. Time is set aside for picture taking with your favorite opossum too!
